KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival tours Europe with Dutch filmmakers and screenings

This Spring, KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival is organizing its first European tour. The KLIK! EU Tour presents Dutch films and filmmakers at an array of animation studios, schools and festivals in five countries.

KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival sets out on a European tour, presenting Dutch films and filmmakers in nine animation cities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, and France.

With a delegation of Dutch animators and KLIK! representatives, the Amsterdam based animation festival sets out to learn and gain inspiration from fellow animation professionals, and to promote the flourishing Dutch animation sector. The KLIK! EU Tour covers nine animation cities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, and France. The tour is powered by the Creative Industries Fund NL.

As catalyst and inspirator of the Dutch animation industry, KLIK! sets out on a European tour to showcase the sector’s quality and potential. The KLIK! EU Tour presents film screenings, Q&As and presentations at museums, animation schools and cinemas. At the same time, the tour’s delegation will visit a number of animation studios to learn from their workflow and corporate structure, and to gain insight into each countries’ animation infrastructure. The KLIK! EU Tour will be concluded with a presentation in Amsterdam to share insights with the Dutch animation sector.

Screenings of Dutch animated shorts

At the tour’s screenings, KLIK! presents a diverse collection of Dutch animated shorts by the delegation’s filmmakers. The screenings also feature special KLIK! programs, showing a selection of the festival’s best recent films. Screenings are accompanied by short presentations and Q&As with Dutch animators, and informal networking drinks.

The KLIK! EU Tour visits and/or partners with organizations such as Show Me The Animation, FMX, Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, Cartoon Saloon, Aardman Animations, UWE Bristol School of Animation, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Studio Soi, Sun Creature Studio, The Animation Workshop, A. Film Production, and the Dutch Embassy.
